Bend is easily accessible by highways or air transportation.  Portland is 157 miles to the northwest of Bend which is located in Central Oregon, east of the Cascade Mountains and situated between US Highway 97 and State Highway 20. Highway 97 provides a north and south route (from Madras to Klamath Falls).  State Highway 20 provides access to the east and west route  (Idaho/Burns to Salem/Willamette Valley).

To reach Bend by air travel, fly to Portland, rent a car, and drive to Bend or fly to our municipal airport in Redmond, Oregon which is 15 miles north of Bend. Redmond/Bend Robert's Field offers three scheduled air carriers, United, Delta and Horizon/Alaska Airlines providing 25 flights daily to and from Portland, Seattle, Salt Lake City and San Francisco.
